In the tiny Moroccan Lounge, Bronze Radio Return was larger than life. The frontman easily commanded engagement from the crowd, towering over all from the raised stage. With guitars in the hands of 4 of 6 band members, the band exuded an energy of undeniable joy. Musically, Bronze Radio Return marries folk to alt rock. The lead sings with a folksy voice, amplified by the other members harmonization. Simultaneously, the sound of 4 guitars, keys, and drums meld together to create a sound that sucks you into singing along and bouncing to the beat. The group demonstrated impressive dynamic range by slowing it down for “Build a Stage” and then bringing it back with upbeat numbers like “Daylight,” ensuring the mood stayed positive throughout.

An honorable mention is owed to the opener Wildermiss. The up and coming group made an impression with the use of looping to build a more complex live performance and the lead singers voice left very little to be desired. Anyone who made the show early enough to catch a part of their performance was definitely rewarded. Here’s hoping we’ll get to see them perform again when they open for Jared & the Mill in May.
